Your telephonic general practitioner consultation

We'll talk through your symptoms or concern and your relevant history, and work out the right next step together — whether that's advice, a prescription, a sick note, a referral, or arranging further tests. This is a general practitioner consultation, so a wide range of everyday medical concerns is welcome.

It's for anyone who needs to speak to a GP about an everyday medical concern and would rather do it by phone than sit in a waiting room. If your enquiry turns out to be better suited to one of our specialised pathways — such as interventional radiology or uterine fibroids — we'll point you to the right consultation.

The consultation is approximately 15–20 minutes by phone, at a scheduled time that suits you.

Yes, where clinically appropriate. Repeat prescriptions, sick notes and referral letters can all be issued during or after the consultation, based on our discussion. We'll let you know if anything needs to be assessed in person first.

If your concern is better handled face-to-face, we'll tell you and help you arrange an in-person appointment. A telephonic consultation is a convenient starting point, not a replacement for an examination when one is needed.

Payment is by SnapScan, using the button above or the link we've sent you. Your consultation is confirmed once payment is received.

Consultations are self-pay and not billed to medical aid directly. However, we provide a detailed invoice that you're welcome to submit to your medical aid yourself for possible reimbursement.
